57400944When I think of my friends that decided to trade in their youth for the fad known as “med school”, I instantly think of the word hilarity. Scrubs creator, Bill Lawrence agrees with me and that is why the ABC sitcom will transform its format for its anticipated ninth season.

Despite the loss of Zach Braff, the ever-enduring series should recover from the loss of its star better than past sitcoms. Why? Because, unlike other shows Scrubs is embracing its change. Says Lawrence:

"It's going to be a different show. It'll still be life-and-death stakes, but if the show is just Scrubs again in the hospital with a different person's voiceover, it would be a disaster and people would be mad."

Sacred Heart will still exist in the background, but the ninth season will serve almost as a reboot for the series as it introduces a new cast of young medical students. Anchored by vets, John C. McGinley and Donald Faison, this could inject new energy into the series that we’ve all loved for years.
