Colbert Interviews Malcolm Gladwell Before They Get Stale: Will Arnett, Chris Elliot and Chris Rock

john_oliver_v9Last month we told you about tapings for a new unnamed stand-up series hosted by John Oliver. Well, today Comedy Central officially announced the show, which is officially called John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show and will officially premiere January 8 at 11pm / 10c.

Want more details? Eat 'em up!

Oliver opens each of the six episodes and introduces four stand-up guests over the hour.  Paul F. Tompkins, Janeane Garofalo, Marc Maron, Brian Posehn, Kristen Schaal and Eugene Mirman close each of their episodes with super-sized sets.  Other comics appearing on the series include Maria Bamford, Greg Fitzsimmons, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Nick Kroll, Matt Braunger, Hannibal Buress, Pete Holmes, Amy Schumer, Chris Hardwick, Matt McCarthy and Hari Kondabolu.

Wow, this is terrible news… for enemies of laughter! Seriously though, I want to take this show to the prom. Can't wait.
