Comedy Central has just announced the nominees for the upcoming first annual Comedy Awards, and I'm sorry to report that you were not nominated. Unless you're Ricky Gervais, in which case, hi, Ricky Gervais! And congratulations, because you were nominated along with Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Louis CK, Kristen Wiig, Zach Galifianakis, Aziz Ansari and many others! Here's what you, Ricky Gervais, had to say about it:

"It is an honor to be nominated for my stand up at this, the first-ever ‘The Comedy Awards’.  In 68 years time, I intend to host it and get it canceled."

You're so funny! I can't believe you read my blog! Here are some more reactions from other nominees:

"Just what America needs: another awards show.  How many tickets do I get?," Homer Simpson

"It is a great honor to be nominated for an award, even this one,” Jimmy Kimmel

“My special is called ‘Whitney Cummings: Money Shot,’ so I'm just glad I didn't get nominated for an AVN award.  I'd say it’s cool that I'm the only girl nominated but then again I'm not sure how many people consider me a girl,” Whitney Cummings

You can read the full list on nominations after the jump. The Comedy Awards will tape at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, March 26 and will air Sunday, April 10 simultaneously on Comedy Central, Spike, TV Land, VH1 and Nick at Nite.
