Stephen Colbert on Stephen Colbert's Glorious SuperPAC Victory Show Report: Comedy Central Park
by | comments:

This July, America turns 235 years old, but I swear she doesn't look a day over 220. So, what do you get the super-power who has everything? How about a month chock-full of free comedy shows at Comedy Central Stage at The Hudson in Hollywood?

As always, all shows start at 8pm and are free with limited seating. Call (323) 960-5519 for reservations.

Here's the schedule:

7 Thursday
Written and Performed by Jay Cramer
While training for the television show, Survivor, Jay Cramer was severely injured in a rock climbing accident. Since then, Jay has become an award-winning comedian. This is his remarkable TRUE story.

12 Tuesday
Written and Performed by Patra Gupta
A comedic solo piece about a young British Indian girl’s dilemma choosing “Love versus Arranged Marriage” in her journey to find a man juxtaposed by the funny and dramatic relationship with her neurotic traditional Indian mother!

14 Thursday
GET ME OUT OF HERE! One Boy’s Escape from Nature Paradise
Written and Performed by Adam Gropman
Millions of American kids love their summer camp experience. Adam Gropman was not one of them. Adam was exiled, at age 9, to the most rugged, outdoorsy, nature-freak camp in New England, from where he wrote his parents letters that still burn off the page.

20 Wednesday
Greg Proops
Mr. Proops is smarter than you. He will regale you with bitter insight, and then entertain questions from the audience. Not for the faint of vocabulary. “Bravely recording some of the boldest comedy on the podcasting frontier right now.” ~Rolling Stone Magazine (The 10 Best Comedy Podcasts of the Moment).

21 Thursday
Writers' Reading Series
It’s summer, time for a special Kids Sit n’ Spin. All performers under the age of eighteen. Join us and see some of your favorite spinners’ offspring spinning. Presented by Jill Soloway, Maggie Rowe and Andersen Gabrych.

25 Monday
Written and Performed by Carla Snowden
When Carla volunteered at a convent, the sisters assumed she wanted to become a nun. She did not correct them. In fact, she lied.

26 Tuesday
Written & Performed by Carrie Clifford & Marc Evan Jackson
Hailing from the OC gated community of Rancho Pico de Gallo, Sky & Nancy Collins are the epitome of clueless, excessive, nouveau riche, ugly Americans. They bribed their way into this show. And they hired special guests.

28 Thursday
Performed by Ten West
Ten West (Jon Monastero and Stephen Simon), L.A.’s premier physical comedy duo, are back with a new show, INEFFABLE: a clown treatise on life, death and hay fever. You’re cordially invited to this funeral of extraordinary measure. Prepare to die laughing. Appropriate funeral attire encouraged. Directed by Bryan Coffee.
